Ex-D.C. Mayor Barry Charged With Stalking

Police say former Washington Mayor Marion Barry has been arrested and charged with stalking a woman.

The United States Park Police said Barry, a current D.C. Council member, was arrested Saturday in Washington after a woman flagged down an officer and complained Barry was stalking her. Barry was charged with misdemeanor stalking and released.

Barry's spokeswoman, Natalie Williams, said Sunday that the accusation was "baseless."

She says Barry plans to fight the charge and said the accuser is a 40-year-old woman Barry had helped financially.

Barry served four terms as mayor. In his third, he was videotaped in 1990 in a hotel room smoking crack cocaine in an FBI sting. He served six months in prison and in 1994 regained the mayor's office.

Cleavage Surprise For Cops

Video Courtesy Of CBS Affiliate WKBN CBS

Warren, Ohio (CBS) It was a squirrely situation.

Wayne Mackey, a Warren, Ohio police detective, has seen a lot during his years on the force, but nothing prepared him for what happened a few weeks ago, when he was interviewing a witness on a recent murder case.

At one point in the interview, the woman, wearing a skimpy tank top, leaned over and out of her bosom crept a baby squirrel that was nestled in the woman's cleavage. The woman, seemingly unphased, gently put the small creature back inside her shirt and continued talking to the detective.

The shocked detective said that he was at a loss for words. "The squirrel seemed quite happy," Mackey said.

It is not clear if the squirrel is the woman's pet or even why she decided to bring with her for the interview.

The two are not expected to be called to testify during the trial.

Harry Potter Star Rupert Grint has the swine flu

Harry Potter Star Rupert Grint has the swine flu

Harry Potter’s Rupert Grint has the distinction of being the first celebrity to suffer from the swine flu according to Telegraph.

“It has just been confirmed that Rupert Grint has taken a few days out of filming due to a mild bout of swine flu,” his publicist said.
“He has now recovered and is looking forward to joining his fellow cast members at the junket and premieres this week and will then return to filming directly afterwards.”

The 20 year old actor is no longer contagious and has beat the swine flu, but I wonder how many reporters are going to refuse to interview him at the Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince junket and premiere because of it. I am not sure I would want to interview him knowing he just recently suffered from it, would you?
