Gospel : Be Not Afraid

You shall cross the barren desert, but you shall not die of thirst.
You shall wander far in safety though you do not know the way.
You shall speak your words in foreign lands and all will understand.
You shall see the face of God and live.

Chorus
Be not afraid.
I go before you always.
Come follow me, and
I will give you rest.

If you pass through raging waters in the sea, you shall not drown.
If you walk amid the burning flames, you shall not be harmed.
If you stand before the pow'r of hell and death is at your side, know that
I am with you through it all.

Blessed are your poor, for the kingdom shall be theirs.
Blest are you that weep and mourn, for one day you shall laugh.
And if wicked men insult and hate you all because of me, blessed, blessed are you!

Lent Song: O Cross Erected Above The World

O Cross Erected Above The World
Cross of our Saviour King! (2)

Fount from which gushed the waters
Straight from the wound in his side
Filling our lives with his gift of grace
Cross of our Saviour King

O Cross sublime and refulgent tree,
Cross of our Saviour King! (2)

Jesus through thee has saved us,
Great was the price that he paid
Thou art the folly of love divine
Cross of our Saviour King!

O Cross, thou channel of grace divine,
Cross of our Saviour King! (2)

Tree on which death was conquered
Thou the first altar of love
Jesus, the Lamb gave his life to thee,
Cross of our Saviour King!

O Cross Erected Above The World
Cross of our Saviour King! (2)

Quotes as on Today's Mood

Infatuation is being head over heels over the person for no apparent reasons. True love is knowing the person inside out and still loving him/her as much as you did the first time you set your eyes on him/her

It is best to love wisely, no doubt: but to love foolishly is better than not to be able to love at all.

Marriage is a triumph of imagination over intelligence. Second marriage is a triumph of hope over experience.

Don Moen - Like Eagles

Don Moen - Like Eagles

O my soul
Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
It's been told form the beginning
The Lord your God is on your side
O my soul don't be afraid
Hope in the Lord
By His righteousness and power
He will strengthen
He will guide

Chorus:
And I will soar
On wings like eagles
Held by the hand of God
I will run and not grow tired
When on His name I call
For the Lord is never weary
His ways are beyond my thoughts
I will trust in Him
With all my heart
(Repeat verses and Chorus)
And I will rest upon His promise
Patiently I'll wait...
(Repeat Chorus 2 times)
I will trust in Him
With all my heart
And I will rest upon His promise
Patiently I'll wait...

An Unstable Confused Mind - Technology to Advertising - A misnomer

Its Monday the 8th of March. Second week of Men's Hostel Life.
The day started early at 8, took my dose of tablets and food for the day. Packed and ready for the drive to Office.

My restless mind likes muti-tasking, It made me switch on the music on my Samsung Star mobile - the Same old ABBA playlist as the first choice and I started my journey.

Just for having read about web site technologies over the weekend, my thoughts made me feel miserable.
I started of thinking about getting well versed in HTML, then said naa may be CSS too .. naa Java Script ..and finally decided DOM's important too .. time passed I passed 5 kilpmeters saw few hoardings and admired the colours.

My mind changed gears, shall we thinking about the Advertising field? I began admiring the colours, was suprised to find that almost all shops had hoardings of discounts being offered, mostly a red and white background. I concluded people talk about recession, but the advertising sector has made the most of it with every shop requiring big fonts with off % season sales. May be I should read about how advertising works? i put the thought aside but couldn't. The thoughts extended when i reached a traffic signal. I admired the light colours of a Videocon Mobile advertising board. I admired the technology that allows you to so. Light colours blended are common on ads these days. Beside it I saw an advertisement for baby products. I realised all baby products are usually yellow, may be thats the catch. From Toys to advertisement, the color yellow works.

Then I admired and thanked Bureaucracy for its work in keeping the roads clean for people like us to enjoy our drive. Imagine driving your car on bumpy roads like we had 15yrs back in Hyderabad.

Finally I reached hostel, dropped my luggage and to office there on.

I realised I started off with technology and ended up with advertising and Bureaucracy, thats how unstable our minds are.

Big week ahead.

Chao for now

A Weekend of all and no activity

Weekend time.
After my first week at hostel. All went well. I reached home with many things to do and ended up doing nothing.

Saturday morning went well.
I did the routine mail checking and decided to read about how google search engine works and do some research related to it. Thirst for knowledge I would term it as for an unstable confused mind, trying to find get the basics right, wishing it could at least get one concept right.

I spent the Saturday afternoon walking and listening Ace of the Base, and cherishing my memories of the Ger together Dinner we had couple of days back. I decided to write about it. I started of well. In two hours I managed to write about 1500 words which include breaks due to power cuts. Decided to have my dinner, enjoyed the sambar and cutlets, Mom's dishes are always the best I concluded again.I completed the Article about the get together, this time with lesser enthusiasm.By the time I was done, my eyes were heavy and ready to hit the sack and I just did that .. Good Night!!!

Good Morning .. It's Sunday.Sunday went well, Mom decided to let me stay alone as she left for far away located church to pray for my betterment I guess. I was bored the first hour, fought the power cut and was back to downloading Spice Girls and B-Witched. Read more about web site development. It was an eye opener, How things arent just easy the way they look. Took notes and then decided to try some technical implementation stuff of computer languages. Failed miserably after the basics went right. Got back to figure out the perfect way to learn it. Found out there isn't any other perfect way but hard work for months. A lesson we already know that nothing happens in a day. It was a reminder.Packed clothes for the week and off to bed .. Night Night..Tadaa .. Another week ahead...

Sunday, February 21, 2010

The day started at 8 today. I went straight to my computer, checked the downloads i had initiated last night and read the bible.

I tried to watch some serials, browse few orkut sites, visited communities related to it. Got bored and played a BMW racing game. At 2 O'Clock I had my lunch and sat back killing time over the net.

At 5 I practiced few hymns for the evening mass. We tried a new beat for a song "In Bread me Bring you Lord". We managed to put up a good show just like the old times. We practiced few new songs for Lent after the mass and retired back to our homes.

Watched the Sony Serial called Rishta.com, an hour's show from 8pm to 9pm( Please do watch, I just love the concept, the actors, every episode and the contemporary lifestyle attitudes and incidents directed and reaching out millions as a TV show.

Thats all in it. Time to go to bed. The downloads initiated shall kill my laptop soon, God save it.

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseneni

The Kite Runner as the name stands tells us the story about two men, half brothers in their relationship, Amir a legal heir, legitimate to his father and Hassan born to his father’s friend’s wife. Amir unaware of this relationship with Hassan begins to feel jealous as he finds his father’s love for Hassan greater than his. Amir’s and Hassan are two sides of a coin in their characteristics. Amir never mentions Hassan as his friend although it wasn’t the same with Hassan.

Amir finds favor in his dad’s eyes after winning a kite flying competition. Sorab discovers he might have to stay at the orphanage till the legal proceedings of adoption fall in place. The very thought of staying at orphanage instills fear of again being sexually abused.

Amir becomes an insomniac, worried about Sorab. He finally gets good news from his wife that they would be able to adopt Sorab on humanitarian grounds and they wouldn’t have to fight a legal battle for it. They take Sorab along with them to California. All the hopes of reviving the spirits in Sorab doesn’t help opening him up and he remains tranquil. He doesn’t live the dreams of Amir and his wife.

Things change for Sorab as Amir brings a smile on Sorab’s face by displaying his skill of Kite flying and reciting memories of the good times he and Hassan shared as a kite runner’s.

The Story behind the celebration of Valentine’s Day

The Story behind the celebration of Valentine’s Day

The day started just as any other normal Sunday. I awoke to find my Mobile’s message box cluttered to realize its Valentine’s Day. I search over the net and was taken aback by the story and the meaning it conveyed. Here’s the description in my own words.

February 14th was a holiday in Rome during that period to honor Juno, the Queen of the Roman Gods and Goddesses as well as goddess of woman and marriage.

Valentine was a Priest during the rule of a Roman Emperor Claudius. Claudius wanted to be a powerful emperor and wanted men to join his army, but men weren’t interested in joining wars because of the love for their family and kids. Claudius foolishly decided not to allow men into marriage. The priests of Rome did not agree with Claudius and secretly conducted marriage of those couples interested being married.

Among those priests was Valentine. He was arrested while secretly conducting marriage of a couple. He was happy that the married couple had escaped, but had to accept the fate of ending into prison, condemned to death. When in jail, much to his surprise he had numerous visitors all who shared their love and gratitude for his service and support for conducting marriages. One among them was the daughter of the Jailor. The jailor had permitted his daughter to visit Valentine in the cell and they exchanged thoughts and talked for hours until one fine day he was to face death.

Valentine left a note for her thanking her for the friendship and loyalty shared with him signing the letter with the message “From Your Valentine”. The date of his death is recorded as the 14th of Feb 269 A.D. He is declared a martyr by the church.
Every year people celebrate the event remembering love and friendship.

Sidney Sheldon’s Tell Me your dreams

Sidney Sheldon’s Tell Me your dreams

I like the form of writing the novel is presented in. Simple dialog writing as I term it as. You don’t have to underestimate your vocabulary; in fact you build it as you read. The story has the appropriate twists and turns to keep the reader interested in it. It’s well balanced with emotions expressed appropriately. The Slang used is much appreciated, much common in use.

I liked the author’s catch in presenting each character’s grumbling thought’s in italics. It brings along humor and makes the story vivacious. I loved every bit of Toni’s Vicious and Vivacious character. She really is the centre of attraction among Alette and Ashley.

Sidney Sheldon’s Tell me Your Dreams is a must read, the characters chosen to perfection (I love the AP logic for the names).
He has built this novel riveting upon Sexual abuse as a cause for Multiple Personality Disorder in the society. The courtroom games balanced the story very well highlighting corporate culture and business realities (carrot stick methodology).

P.S. Should there be any better novels, please do feel free to reply them in the comments section.

School Friends Meet up for what ???

School Friends Meet up for what ???
Below are some of the thoughts summarized about the topic I chose :

Friends have this preconceived notion that their opinions which were valid during schooldays or the past still prove to be right. They feel the knowledge derived from school made them masters even for future life and without any hesitation push(thrust) their views about their classmates and make him look like a fictional character in a novel, which obviously isnt true.(poor miserable chap) finds himself being confonted(faced) with a version of story he isn't leading today.

I wonder why do they make a fool of themselves by trying to have an opinion about others that too when you haven't seem or have known the whereabouts of the person for years. Its ridiculous, absurd.

I have seen that mostly students who are successful in their careers do turn up for school reunions. The reunions are mostly an assessment as to how far or how greater a person you are the stage of life you are meeting at. Just like the old days. Then it were grades(marks), Today its how heavy your pay check is.

Very few an open mind to recollect the good & funny aspects of school life for a hearty conversation.

There have been instances where many skip the reunion or prefer the presence of selected batch mate's presence to be part of the event. I might be wrong but i ve always felt the word 'Ego' play its part for many explaining what it actually means.

Its a must everyone should be working or on par with the rest by which I mean either you should be getting paid heavily or should have been inheriting his fathers business with a steady income to be part of the crew.

I feel it all boils down to one single word "Confidence". Confidence to face the competing crowd thats going to ask you to justify your success. The questions sometimes are intended to make a person feel worthless(miserable) . You should be ready for some indirect questions which would mean "I never thought you could be in such a position", I am amazed but i think its still pure luck your running around.

Tennis – A part of my life?

Tennis – A part of my life?

I grew up watching Tennis with my father being a die-hard fan of Sports especially Tennis. My father always praised the era of tennis mentioning the great’s courage and bravery shown with his remarkable detailed explanation, with the stars being Bjorn Borg, John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors,Vijay Amritraj, Ivan Lendyl , Stephan Edberg and Boris Becker among the list.

As for me, being born in the 80’s, it took time to get to know the whereabouts of the game. By the time I was in my teens and I had learnt the nuances of the game, we began taking sides and being opponents off the field while the opponents battled it out on the field. We battled it out for them cheering, creating an aura of a stadium at home.

The only time I got a chance to chance myself as a Tennis player was at my friends place. The place was open field, cemented ground used as a go down to dry and stock rice. As it was a rice mill, we used heavy rice bags as a resource to tie the nets. We had his father’s old fashioned racquet’s two as neat as never used and the other two were broken. We were in our early teens when we tried out this thrilling game. We found it interesting, but we never could persist as our passion for Cricket never ever let it happen again. Tennis was an expensive game, not as cheap as cricket which could be played anywhere and everywhere.

The aura of watching a game live was always electrifying. My mother job was very simple, more games more refreshments. My father always made it a point to express his strategies and advices as though he were a coach.

Coming to my pick list, I admire the whole lot. I always loved to watch Boris Becker and Micheal Stitch play. The list of Ladies Singles consists of the most adorable Monica Seles, Justin Henin, Davenport, Martina Hingis, Steffi Graf and Mary Pierce. The Williams sisters were a big no for me.

My pick for the men’s stars that I grew up with changed as did the era of Tennis. Upcoming stars like Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi made their way to the Tennis Hall of Fame, but players like Jim Courier, Goran Ivanasevic, Mark Philipous, Nadal, Roger Federer, Ande Roddick and Marat Safin top my list.

For Doubles Paes and Bhupathi were an adorable pair and so were the Knowles brothers.

To End with on a thankful note: The seasons of tennis : US Open, Wimbledon, French Open and Australian Open, produce wonderful stars era by era bringing in a lot of new talent, sporting spirit and rejuvenated life for viewers year after year.
